May 1: Solidarity Day
My winner: Image 3 β "Together we stand" Image 4 is the most graphically clean (the broken chain is a strong symbol), Image 1 the most photoreal but overcrowded with stock-photo archetypes, and Image 4 vs Image 3 is the real fight here. Image 2 is the most interesting idea β solidarity with the robots, a 21st-century twist on labor β but the execution is muddled (the AI-faces blend into the foliage and the typography looks half-rendered). Image 3 wins because it understands May Day's aesthetic lineage. The holiday isn't just an idea, it has a 130-year-old visual language β Constructivist rays, slab serifs, the worker handshake β and Image 3 quotes that grammar fluently while modernizing it (the robot in the chef's hat carrying labor solidarity into the automation era is a genuinely sharp update). Image 4 is a beautiful generic poster about unity; Image 3 is a specifically May 1st poster, which is the brief. The handshake between human and machine, painted in 1925 colors, is the only image in the field that earns the date stamp.
