Tiny CEOs – the boardroom is a walnut shell

The cosiest room of the four and the emptiest meeting — the hanging lamp pools its light beautifully on the table, and the little library behind promises a company with a history. But the four directors are the same face four times, in the same suit, doing the same nothing, and a boardroom only becomes interesting when somebody in it wants something the others don't.

Image 1 — "The Board in a Nutshell" : 3.65
The best-built object in the round: both halves of the shell open on their hinge, and the framed performance graph and wall clock turn a nut into a room with a lease. What keeps it cool is the anonymity — at this scale the men's faces are pale marks, so you admire a diorama instead of watching a meeting, and the idiom made literal is the first answer the theme invites rather than the fifth.

Image 2 — "Cracking the Corporate Code" : 3.80
The smartest casting of the round: squirrels are the only species with a real stake in a walnut, so this reads as a commodities firm meeting inside its own product, and the shallow macro focus with the desk falling away behind genuinely sells the illusion that somebody photographed it. It loses ground on staging — laptops and flip chart are all angled for the camera, so every squirrel appears to be presenting and nobody is listening.

Image 3 — "The 'Snow White' Corporation' CEO" : 3.95
The only picture here with a story already in progress. Someone is mid-sentence at a leaf pinned up as a flip chart, six colleagues are genuinely listening, and the bowl of nuts on the table is the detail that turns a set into a workplace — this is a Tuesday morning at Snow White Corp, not an arrangement of small figures around a table. The casting is the round's one real surprise: seven dwarves were already a company, and nobody else thought to notice it. The stylised render sits in a different world from the macro photography of its rivals, and the shell reads more cave than walnut, but charm and invention beat surface fidelity, and this has both. My winner.
