Nothing around you is normal. You were just told it was

Look up.
The Moon is 400 times smaller than the Sun and 400 times closer. Same size in the sky. That's why total eclipses exist. Nothing in physics requires that. It just happened.
You got a stabiliser, a tide engine and a perfect eclipse from one object.

Light has no mass. No time. No distance. From the photon's side, it was emitted and absorbed in the same instant, across zero space. And we measure its speed and call that knowing it πŸ™‚πŸŒž.

Consciousness.
You have never touched the world. You've touched a model of it built inside a dark, silent skull from electrical signals. Colour isn't out there - photons have wavelengths, not colours. Sound isn't out there - air has pressure waves, not noise. Pain isn't in the injury. All of it is rendered. You are watching a simulation and calling it the room. 🎨.
A machine could do everything you do, flawlessly, with nobody home.

And let's not even start on the constants 😁.
1. Most absurdly fine-tuned: the cosmological constant. Theory predicts a value about 10\^120 times bigger than what we observe. 120 zeros.
Nudge it and either the universe tears itself apart before atoms form, or it collapses back on itself. πŸ’₯

  1. Runner-up: the early expansion rate. Off by 1 part in 10\^60 and there's no universe worth mentioning. 🎯

Verdict:
Nothing here is normal. You were just born into it and told to stop asking.
