Chewing drives you insane. A pig doing the same thing doesn't. Why

Same wet sound. Same volume. A person chewing makes you want to leave the room. A pig or dog eating makes you laugh. Nothing about the noise changed.

It was never the sound.
Your brain runs other people through your own body. You watch someone reach for a cup and the same wiring fires as if your arm moved. That is how you read faces, catch moods, know what someone meant before they finished the sentence.

The rage is not noise. It is another body forced into yours without asking.

Next time it happens, notice you are not angry at a sound. You are defending a border. Then decide who crossed it. πŸ”ͺ
